CAE of Conformal Cooling Technology

The engineering solution conceived during the early product design stages are considered to be very critical, as the first 20% of design activity determines almost 70% of the total product development cost. With the advancement of “Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE)” technology, efficient and accurate assessment of design solution with in-depth scientific calculation and analysis becomes possible. CCTC equips with CAE software, Moldex 3D, for optimizing the plastic injection moulding process in which the molten plastic flows through a gate and runner system, fills the mould cavity, solidifies and finally cools down. The CAE simulation could reveal all the critical design information, such as molten plastic flow behaviour, interaction of heat transfer among molten plastic, tooling and thermal management channel, and the formation of moulding defect.
