Appointment of New Executive Director of HKPC

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) announced today (29 November 2017) the appointment of Mr Mohamed Din Butt as its Executive Director for a period of three years with effect from 18 December 2017.

The Chairman of the Council of HKPC, Mr Willy Lin, said that the Council was confident that Mr Butt will lead HKPC to realise its vision of being the best solution partner of Hong Kong industries in enhancing their business productivity and competitiveness, and moving towards Industry 4.0 to grasp the opportunities brought by the Belt and Road initiative and Greater Bay Area development.

"We are impressed by Mr Butt's experience in collaborating with both private and public sectors over a wide range of multi-national businesses in his previous senior management executive positions," Mr Lin said. "His knowledge of industrial development trend, strong leadership and strategic mindset, coupled with track record in executing large transformational projects, will be a valuable asset to HKPC in realising its mission to drive re-industrialisation in Hong Kong and promote smart industry," Mr Lin added.

Before joining HKPC, Mr Butt has been with General Electric (GE) for over twenty years, and was tasked with leading executive roles in security, lighting and transportation branches of GE's businesses in the past nine years.
