“Play 4 Performance” Gamification Revolutionises Corporate Training HKPC Academy Empowers Employees' FutureSkills and ESG Awareness

(Hong Kong, 23 July 2024) With the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the HKSAR Government's effort in promoting Innovation and Technology (I&T) in recent years, there is a pressing need for talent to reskill and upskill with digital knowledge and soft skills to stay competitive in the market. In view of this, the HKPC Academy organised the “Play 4 Performance” Corporate Experience Day (P4P) on 22 July to showcase new interactive training solutions that combine gamification and technological applications to enhance employees’ technological know-how, team spirit and soft skills, so as to support the upcoming I&T development trend.

In the event, nearly 200 Human Resources, Learning & Development, and corporate training professionals from diverse sectors gathered to explore the latest trends and training activities shaping the job market. These included cutting-edge technologies like VR, as well as immersive team-building exercises such as “Team Unlock+”, “Happy Burger”, and “The Legend of Babylon”. Participants could embark on thrilling virtual adventures, collaborating to find clues and overcome challenges. This VR-powered team building tool supports up to 80 users in real-time, immersive experiences with customisable avatars, therefore maximising training efficiency and engagement. Recognising the growing importance of ESG in the future workplace, the Experience Day incorporated sustainable development strategies and ethical practices into training activities. For instance, the “Eco Crisis” exercise emphasised effective communication, active collaboration, and ESG considerations in crisis management, thus cultivating participants’ skills like creative thinking, problem-solving and responsible decision-making – all aligned with ESG goals.
